For startups

Hosting for startups: start lean, scale when it is earned

Early stage teams should not prepay for capacity they might not need. ODHOST lets you launch a landing page for ₹99 a month and step up to your own server when the product proves itself, all on monthly billing.

What early stage teams need

No long commitments

Plans pivot. Monthly billing means you are never locked into a 36 month term for a product you might rename next quarter.

A clear growth path

Landing page on shared hosting today, application on a VPS tomorrow, without changing provider.

Several domains

A marketing site, a waitlist page, a docs site and a staging area, each on its own domain or subdomain.

Servers in India

VPS plans are located in India, close to Indian users and with data kept in the country.

Separate your marketing site from your product

A common and sensible setup is to keep the marketing website on shared hosting and run the product itself on a VPS. Marketing pages change often and are easy to manage in a control panel; the application needs its own runtime, dependencies and resources.

That separation also protects you: a traffic spike from a launch post hits the marketing site, not the server your paying users depend on.

When to move from shared hosting to a VPS

Move when your product needs software that shared hosting does not provide (for example a Node.js or Python backend, background workers or a specific database), when you need guaranteed memory, or when you need a dedicated IP address. Until then, shared hosting is cheaper and needs no server administration.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Short, straight answers. If yours is not here, ask us before you order.

Should a startup use cloud platforms instead?

Large cloud platforms offer more services but more complex billing. A fixed price VPS is easier to budget early on. Read web hosting vs cloud hosting.

Can I pay monthly while we are pre revenue?

Yes. Every ODHOST plan is available on monthly billing at the same rate as yearly.

Can I start on shared and move to a VPS later?

Yes. Your marketing site can stay on shared hosting while the app moves to a VPS, or you can migrate everything. See shared vs VPS.
