For developers

Hosting for developers: shared for clients, VPS for your stack

Most developers need two kinds of hosting: an easy home for client sites that clients can understand, and a server of their own for projects with custom runtimes. ODHOST covers both.

What developers look for

The usual stack

PHP, MySQL and WordPress on every shared plan, managed from a control panel. Ask ODHOST if a project needs Windows or ASP.NET.

A server of your own

VPS plans with dedicated RAM and vCores, a dedicated IPv4 and an uplink of up to 1 Gbps.

Low latency in India

VPS and dedicated servers located in India, close to Indian users and APIs.

Predictable billing

Fixed monthly prices in rupees, without metered usage that changes every month.

What you can and cannot do on shared hosting

Shared hosting accounts are designed for websites: PHP applications, databases, cron jobs and email. They are not designed for long running processes, custom system packages or containers. If your project needs those, choose a VPS.

Specific details such as available PHP or .NET versions, SSH access on shared plans and Git deployment should be confirmed with ODHOST support before you rely on them.

A pattern that works for client work

Host client marketing sites on a single Turbo or Elite account where each site has its own folder, database and FTP login, and run anything custom on a VPS you control. Bill clients a maintenance fee that covers hosting, updates and backups.

Questions

Do I get root access on a VPS?

Ask ODHOST before ordering. Access level and management scope are confirmed per order.

Can I host Node.js or Python apps?

On a VPS, generally yes, since you control the software. On shared hosting, support for these depends on the server configuration; confirm with support.

How do I connect to my server?

Linux servers over SSH and Windows servers over Remote Desktop. See connecting to a VPS.
